The Lannom Award for Young Conductors

Award Application

In 2000, members of ACDA and several former students of Allen Lannom established an Endowment Trust in honor of his contribution to the choral art and his commitment to mentoring young conductors. The Lannom Endowment Trust is one of the trusts administered by the American Choral Directors Association under the ACDA Endowment Trust.

The purpose of the Trust is to advocate for the choral art by providing funding for the mentorship of choral conductors that will enhance their musical understanding and artistry in conducting.

In keeping with the purpose of the Trust, an award will be given to a conductor who is twenty-nine years of age or younger to engage in score study with a master conductor.

In 2012, the award is given for score study at the Massachusetts ACDA Summer Conference with Dr. Daniel Bara of the University of Georgia. The application deadline is April 28, 2012. The application is here. More information about the MA ACDA Summer Conference is here.
