The Richard I. Kegerreis Scholarship Fund

Dick Kegerreis (1928-2002) contributed enormously to ACDA through his service as editor of the Eastern Division's Troubadour, as national coordinator of newsletter editors, and as editor of New York's state newsletter Choral Cues. To honor these contributions, as well as his life as a dedicated choral conductor and mentor, the Board of the Eastern Division in 2002 established the Richard I. Kegerreis ACDA Eastern Division Conference Scholarships.

Two categories of scholarship assistance are available:

• Kegerreis Collegiate Scholarships are awarded to college/university student ACDA members attending ACDA Eastern Division conferences. Scholarships may also be awarded for ACDA national conferences. The number and value of these scholarships is determined yearly by the Kegerreis Collegiate Scholarship Sub-Committee and is based on the fund amount approved by the Eastern Division's Executive Committee.

• Kegerreis Honor Choir Scholarships are awarded to accepted participants in ACDA Eastern Division honor choirs. The number and value of these scholarships is determined biennially by the Kegerreis Honor Choir Scholarship Sub-Committee, and is based on the fund amount approved by the Eastern Division's Executive Committee.

Source of Funds
Donations to the Kegerreis Scholarship Fund are solicited on an on-going basis from individuals and other sources by the Kegerreis Scholarship Committee. Your tax-exempt donations can be accepted by check or credit card.

Administration of the Fund
Procedures regarding announcement, application, and selection of recipients are determined yearly by committees comprised of Eastern Division board members. It is recommended that these procedures and subsequent documents be reviewed and revised by the sub-committees following each conference.

Committee Organization
The Kegerreis Scholarship Committee consists of six persons appointed by the Eastern Division president. The President will name one of the six members to serve as Chair.

Two Division past-presidents;
Division president-elect;
Division treasurer; and
Conference Honor Choir Coordinator.

In addition, one of the following Eastern Division Repertoire & Standards Chairs will serve:
College/University;
Two-year College; or
Youth and Student Activities.

The Kegerreis Collegiate Scholarship Sub-Committee consists of three Repertoire & Standards chairs appointed by the President. The sub-committee is chaired by the person appointed to the full committee.

The Kegerreis Honor Choir Scholarship Sub-Committee consists of the Honor Choir chair and all Honor Choir coordinators and co-coordinators appointed for that year's Eastern Division conference. The sub-committee is chaired by the Honor Choir chair.
