Greetings to my colleagues in the Eastern Division of ACDA!

It is my pleasure to serve this great organization as the Eastern Division Youth and Student Activities Chair. I have some big shoes to fill; David Fryling has been a friend for a long time and his done wonderful things for our organization. It's an exiting time to be involved with you and student activities!

We have a few programs in the works that will hopefully be received well division-wide. One of the projects, jointly sponsored by our National Office, is the New Collegiate Chapter Initiative. In an effort to introduce the next generation of choral artists to our organization, we are, as funds allow, subsidizing collegiate membership for the initial members of a newly founded collegiate chapter for the first year. This is truly looked upon as an investment in the future. We demonstrate to the students that we are committed to their success by providing a host of resources and they learn the benefits of being part of the oldest organization tailored for the choral artist. The hope is to build life-long members of ACDA. For details, please contact me and I can assist with the necessary paperwork.

There are a couple other projects in the works, one of which should be announced soon. I am very excited at the prospects and hope that the division will be as well. In the mean time, please email of call me with your thoughts, suggestions, critiques, or just to chat. I hope to see many of you in Chicago in 2011! It should be a wonderful convention. Let's hope the snow holds out for us this year!
